The Year of Snake is approaching. In recent days, Haiyan is full of happiness and prosperity. Locals are busy with writing Spring Festival couplets, rubbing and painting for the Spring Festival... Everyone is preparing for the arrival of the Spring Festival. Recently, Qiyuan Garden has held intangible cultural heritage-centered activities like intangible cultural heritage-centered parades and “Spring Festival Market”. The parade is the highlight, and the parade team dressed in traditional costumes presents a splendid landscape. The “Spring Festival Market” provides tourists with more opportunities to know better intangible cultural heritages. In the “Market” there are traditional goods such as paper cuttings, Spring Festival pictures, lanterns, etc., which contain rich cultural connotations and create a strong Spring Festival atmosphere. In Zhujiamen, Ganpu Town, a Spring Festival celebration attracts both local villagers and foreign friends from Canada and Russia to join to experience Haiyan’s traditional Spring Festival. Asta from Russia was excited to experience the rubbing at “Three Shadows Studio” in Zhujiamen. “My rubbing is ‘Happy’. I hope in the new year joy and happiness come to my home,” said Asta. Asta, 30 years old, moved to Haiyan three years ago with her husband, and this is her third time to spend the Spring Festival in Haiyan. “It’s so nice to be all together. It’s so lively,” says she. On the lawn of Zhujiamen, a Canadian follows his teacher to copy the painting of the Year of Snake. He tells the reporter that it is the 11th time to spend the Spring Festival in Haiyan. As a foreign son-in-law of Haiyan, he now can speak local dialect. He is a witness to the rapid development and changes of local rural areas. At the Spring Festival Market, many people write Spring Festival couplets, taste traditional snacks such as freshly baked rice cakes, popcorn, making the scene jubilant. The “Spring Festival Market” will be open in whole Spring Festival. During the Spring Festival, citizens and tourists can go to Zhujiamen to learn about the folk customs of Ganpu, experience local traditional Spring Festival and celebrate the Year of Snake. Recently, the CPC Service Center for the Public of Economic Development Zone of Haiyan gave festival greetings and blessings in the form of a special “Spring Festival Eve Dinner” to the people still working during the Spring Festival. “Happy Spring Festival! Cheers!” During the Dinner, everyone drank, shared the work of the past year and expressed their expectations for the Year of Snake. The attendants present include couriers and those for takeaways, etc. They are from all over the country, work and settle in Haiyan. During the Dinner, a special game was organized so that they could enjoy relaxation and joy after busy work. In the future, this Service Center will continue to work to meet their high-frequency needs, care about them, and create a better environment where everyone is valued and respected. Recently, a Spring Festival greeting activity with the theme of “Happy Spring Festival to All” was held in Yongfu Community to deliver the blessings to the elderly, making this winter not so cold. The greeting started with the dance “Encountering” performed by the teachers of Haiyan University for the Elderly. Wonderful music and charming dance created a cheerful atmosphere for the elderly, who received sincere festive wishes, cakes and happiness while watching wonderful artistic performances, enjoying festive time and embracing the Spring Festival. With the theme of “National Unity, Common Prosperity and Future Development”, the “Spring Festival Art Performance 2025” was held in Jiangwei Village. A variety of activities delivered festive greetings and blessings to the villagers such as art performances, fun sports, free Spring Festival couplets presenting, photo taking, diagnosis, haircuts and knife sharpening, attracting more than 500 villagers’ participation. The art performance was held near people’s home so that everyone felt the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival in advance, and strengthened villagers’ friendship. In Yongqing Village, the public service activities with the theme of “Hand in Hand for the Spring Festival” were also held in a lively matter, which delivered festival greetings to the villagers. Calligraphy lovers wrote Spring Festival couplets to express their best wishes to the public, and barbers cut hair freely for the elderly and the disabled so that they could welcome the Spring Festival with a new look. |
