  • The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) will kick off in Guangzhou in three phases from April 15 to May 5. Widely recognized as “China’s No.1 Fair,” the Canton Fair draws the attention of buyers from around the world and serves as a platform for companies to expand overseas markets and boost their brands presence. With 106 booths, 58 companies from Haiyan will participate.

At the packaging workshop of Zhejiang Theo Industrial Co., Ltd. in Wanghai, workers were busy packing eye-catching bathtub samples in orange, green, black and more. Unlike traditional white bathtubs, these products are colorful and stylish. Using 3D printing technology, the company has scaled down mainstream models to one twentyfourth of their original size and will exhibit 27 such samples at the Fair, allowing customers to see the designs and colors at a glance. This company’s products are 100% for export, mainly to the United States, Canada, and Europe. It produces 6,000 to 7,000 bathtubs per month; its revenue exceeded 70 million yuan last year, and is expected to reach 100 million yuan this year.

Six companies from Haiyan are first‑time exhibitors at the Fair, such as Jiaxing Wangzu Industrial Co., Ltd., in Economic Development Zone of Baibu.

At its showroom, staff are seen assembling prefabricated plastic formwork for housing— a product to be displayed in Phase II of the Fair. Unlike traditional 8‑cm‑thick plastic formwork used in infrastructure projects, this new formwork is only 6.5 cm thick, so it is lighter, more durable, lower in transportation costs and available in various sizes to meet customers’ needs.

This high‑tech enterprise produces plastic formwork and molds for utility tunnels, culverts, highways, high‑speed railways, and large reservoir slope protection. In the past, it was indirectly involved in foreign trade by supplying overseas projects undertaken by China Railway Group Limited and China Communications Construction Company Limited, and its products were applied in the railway projects in Malaysia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and Laos.

41 companies form Haiyan will participate in Phase I of the Fair this year, 16 in Phase II, and five in Phase III. Their products cover a broad range, including electronic and electrical items (home appliances, consumer electronics, information products), tools, hardware, auto parts, new energy products, general machinery, basic mechanical components, bathroom equipment, and more.
