At its 2026 national conference on organizational liaison, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles invited representatives from Haiyan to share their experience in “revitalizing rural areas through literature and art”. Haiyan’s innovative practices have gained national industry attention. Since 2025, the county has closely followed the national direction of promoting rural revitalization through literature and art, integrating its “Six Initiatives in Action” into local literary and artistic work; it has raised its artistic standards, advanced the “Hometown of Literature” project, and turned cultural resources into development advantages, achieving both cultural and economic progress. In practice, the county actively preserves intangible cultural heritage (ICH). At the opening match of the 2026 Zhejiang City Football League (Wuyue Cup), a rolling lantern team and a dragon dance team from the county were invited to perform in the opening ceremony program “Wuyue Peace Year”, bringing local ICH into public view. With the construction of the Southern Future Rural Art Corridor in 2025, the artistic atmosphere in Qinshan, Tongyuan, and Ganpu has grown increasingly rich. Among them, the rolling lantern program from Fengshan Village won a gold medal at the Rural Dance Competition of Jiaxing, and the rolling lantern team from Qinshan was invited to participate in Dong Yuhui’s live stream, effectively enhancing local cultural visibility and influence. Based on the solid foundation of its ICH and art corridor, Haiyan has adopted the zone-based development model, established a cross-regional coordinated development mechanism, and created distinctive art-themed tourism routes, transforming rural cultural resources into tangible development outcomes and promoting agriculture-culture-tourism integrated development. In 2025, Yang Shouwei, Party Secretary of the Zhejiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles, approved the construction of the Southern Future Rural Art Corridor, which was subsequently featured in a promotional video by the Federation. Now the art corridor has become a benchmark case for enhancing rural revitalization through literature and art in Zhejiang. Haiyan has promoted the creation of high-quality literary and artistic works and the transformation of their outcomes, injecting strong momentum into local cultural and economic development. Last year, 61 of its outstanding works were adopted by municipal-level or higher platforms. The county facilitated the adaptation of two literary works into films or TV series, as well as the adaptation of two cultural brands into micro-dramas; its two micro-dramas won national and provincial awards, and were distributed internationally, broadening the development path of the cultural industry. |
