Recently, the results of the brand reputation of Zhejiang’s central towns were released, and Ganpu ranked 26th. As key points linking a county’s economy and rural development, Zhejiang’s central towns are seeing growing prominence in brand building. The brand reputation of a central town refers to consumers, social organizations and individual’s evaluations of central towns, reflecting their perception, trust, impression and consumption experience of those towns. Located in southern Haiyan, Ganpu boasts Scenic Area of South-North Lake - the only national AAAA-level mountain-sea-lake scenic area in China. With the only mountain-sea-lake ecosystem in the Yangtze River Delta, it now is a National-level Ecological Town, a Provincial-level Ancient Town, Provincial-level Forest Town, a Provincial-level Cultural Strong Town, a Provincial-level Civilized Town and a Provincial-level Fruit and Vegetable Specialty Agricultural Town. Leveraging the opportunity that the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta has been upgraded to a national development strategy, this town has focused on its key villages like the traditional Chinese village Liuli as well as Nanbeihu, a beautiful revolutionary education village under pilot construction, pushed forward with Zhejiang’s initiative of upgrading its villages and towns to pursue distinctive, differentiated and coordinated development, aiming to build a premier mountain-sea-lake leisure destination, a sci-tech and intelligent manufacturing hub on the northern bank of the Hangzhou Bay, and a model city for culture and tourism-driven common prosperity. Central towns serve as a bridge connecting urban and rural areas and promoting regional balanced development. To this end, Ganpu will capitalize on its tourism resources, center on its Nanbeihu Village and integrate local revolutionary resources to build a cross-regional revolutionary education hub; additionally, it will promote market-driven “village plus strong companies plus cultural studio plus residents” model implemented in Zhujiamen and the “farms plus farmers” land transfer-driven employment model implemented in Zijinshan Village, implement such projects as the “‘enclave’-based cross-regional cooperation development” project to boost common prosperity, integrate its urban and rural development and narrow the gaps between urban and rural residents’ incomes, urban and rural areas, and urban residents’ incomes. |
