Recently, a demonstration and promotion event for new varieties of fresh corn in Haiyan in 2025 was held in Xinfeng Village, aiming to promote the cultivation techniques of new varieties of fresh corn and increase the income of vegetable farmers. In recent years, Haiyan has continuously introduced new and special corn varieties and conducted early cultivation experiments and demonstrations to improve the planting benefits of corn and help farmers increase production and income. This year, the total area of corn cultivation in the county is expected to exceed 5,500 mu, with an average yield of 2,500 jin per mu, most of which are fresh corn.

At the Chaofeng Ecology Farm in Xinfeng, fresh corn trial varieties provided by the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences are being cultivated. Rows of corn are neatly arranged, and a bountiful harvest is in sight. These new varieties of corn have plump fruits and a refreshing aroma, clearly demonstrating the success of the trial planting.

At the event, 12 new varieties of fresh corn were neatly displayed for attendees to taste. This year, Haiyan introduced new varieties such as Heitiannuo 188, Zhenuongyu 24, and Zhenuoyu 168. Among them, Zhenuoyu 168, with its unique color and edible raw feature, became the focus of the event. Nowadays, as a low-calorie and low-sugar food, fresh corn is an ideal choice for a healthy diet and has a broad market prospect.
