Recently, Department of Economy and Information Technology of Zhejiang released the first list of Advanced Smart Factories of Zhejiang. Five enterprises from Haiyan made the list: Eversharp Tools Co., Ltd., Yupont Power Intelligent Equipment (Jiaxing) Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Youpon Integrated Ceiling Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Shanying Paper Co., Ltd., and Nader Electric Appliance (Haiyan) Co., Ltd.

The advanced smart factories represent the top-level factories in Zhejiang to foster smart factories, which requires enterprises to take the lead in intelligence, digitalization and informatization, and play a demonstration effect in the industries they belong to. The core objectives are to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, optimize quality and upgrade traditional industries through systematic integration, data interoperability and flexible manufacturing.

Those five enterprises have significantly boosted their core competitiveness by introducing advanced intelligent manufacturing technologies and equipment and achieving automation, intelligence and digitalization in their production processes, fully demonstrating local strong intelligent manufacturing capabilities.

Driven by smart manufacturing and industrial Internet technologies, Future Precision Cutting Tools Factory of Eversharp has established a shared data chain and an intelligent operation and decision system, and become a demonstration model for new smart manufacturing applications in the precision cutting tools industry, which enhances the competitiveness of domestically made “high-efficiency, high-precision, high-reliability and specialized” precision tools. High-precision Smart Meter Factory of Yupont has established a full-chain intelligent manufacturing management system, greatly reducing operational costs.

Intelligent Factory of Shanying has built a fully automated paper production line, an intelligent quality inspection system, an efficient automated intra-factory logistics system, a smart system digitizing the whole warehousing process, and a real-time data collection and analysis system for smarter and more efficient production. Relying on industrial Internet, “Digital Twin”, big data, and AI, Smart Low-Voltage Electrical Components Factory of Nader has established a lean and smart manufacturing system deeply integrating advanced information technologies.

Industrial Internet plays a vital role in advancing enterprises’ digital transformation and smart manufacturing, and has become a strong driver for high-quality industrial economic development. To encourage enterprises to embrace digitalization, Haiyan has consistently promoted high-end, intelligent, digital and green development of its manufacturing sector in recent years, deepened the integration of innovation, industry, capital and talent chains, and inspired enterprises to strive for digital upgrading through issuing supportive policies to stimulate enterprises’ enthusiasm for digital transformation.

To date, Haiyan boasts one provincial-level future-oriented factory, two  provincial-level future-oriented pilot factories under construction, six  provincial-level smart factories (digital workshops), two provincial-level industrial Internet platforms and seven provincial-level “cloud-based” manufacturing enterprises.

In 2024, Haiyan issued “Implementation Plan for Enhancing Quality and Efficiency of Digitalization and Green Transformation of Manufacturing Industry (2024-2026)”, aiming to establish by 2026 five provincial-level future-oriented pilot factories or national-level smart factories, 18 provincial-level industrial Internet platforms and eight provincial-level “cloud-based” manufacturing enterprises.
