Recently, the opening ceremony of “Dragon Year Art Exhibition 2024 & Aesthetic Education Plan for Travelling to Appreciate Sanmao Cartoons” kicked off at Zhang Leping Memorial Hall of Haiyan.

With the theme of Chinese dragons, the exhibition displayed 92 exhibits and will last until May 10, 2024. Those exhibits show creators’ unique comprehension and innovative expression of dragon culture and the inheritance and development of the dragon culture in contemporary art.

The exhibition was jointly sponsored by Shanghai Artists Association, Shanghai Animation Association, Bureau of Culture and Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports of Haiyan, and Federation of Literary and Arts of Haiyan. It received more than 5,000 works from all over the world, of which more than 70% were created by young people and more than 80% are digitized.

On the same day, the “Aesthetic Education Plan for Travelling to Appreciate Sanmao Cartoons” was launched. As planned, the county will establish a cartoon library based on Zhang Leping’s cartoons and hold regularly cartoon exhibitions, cartoon training and art lectures in rural areas to provide high-quality culture resources for each town’s culture centers and rural cultural halls to meet people’s needs.
