On September 28, 2018, Wanghai Sub-district was established with the approval of the CPC Haiyan County Committee as a component of the central urban areas of the county and a new industrial city of emerging industries. Covering an area 54.55 square kilometers, Wanghai is made up of five communities and five administrative villages. In Wanghai there are more than 600 enterprises in electronics, electrical appliances, precision equipment manufacturing, food processing, etc. and the annual output of its industrial enterprises above the designed size reached over eight billion yuan. The core of the new industrial city of emerging industries is to be built into a center for advanced technologies, top-end manufacturing industries and high-quality foreign investment projects. Wanghai has successfully applied to be built into a Hi-tech Industrial Park of Zhejiang, and now it has established a quality industry system of electronics, display-related industries, precision equipment manufacturing, food and tourism.
