Several days ago, the fourth list of “Most Beautiful Park” of Jiaxing was released, and Seaside Park of Haiyan was shortlisted, becoming the second park of Haiyan to win such an honor. The first one is Sea Garden. Shen Mengdi, a worker from Seaside Garden Company was honored as “Most Beautiful Gardener”.

Located in the east of Haiyan and among Binhai Avenue, Yanpingtang River, Chaoyang Road (E) and Chengbei Road (E), this park looks like an “L” and covers an area of 15 hectares. It is an open urban comprehensive park reflecting local long history and splendid culture. The region where the park is located is culturally rich, and such cultural relics are found here as the sites for ancient city walls, salt pan culture, fish scale-like seawalls, and the story about Yu Boya and Zhong Ziqi.

In 2010, Wuyuan Sub-district (Urban Construction and Investment Group of Haiyan), took target measures to construct over 20 scenic spots like Salt Pan Plaza, Celebrity Gallery and Impressive Haiyan. Consisting of Ancient Culture Exhibition Zone, Ancient City Wall Renovation Zone and lawns, it is a comprehensive park characterized by Jiangnan’s style and local history, culture, traditions and customs, and serves as a recreation zone and a tourism destination.

In the days ahead, Wuyuan will continue to improve urban quality, enrich and enhance urban green space, construct more characteristic scenic spots, amplify ecological benefits and enrich service functions to build Wuyuan into “the first seaside city facing the Hangzhou Bay”.
