Several days ago, the Department of Agricultural and Rural Affairs of Zhejiang released the List of Grade-A Agricultural Entities in Agricultural Products’ Standardized Production Performance Evaluation of Zhejiang. Huizhong Farm of Haiyan was put in the list, becoming the county’s first agricultural entity to win such an honor.

Established in 2013, Huizhong Farm now has the right to manage more than 166,667 square meters of land to mainly plant grapes. In 2022, its sales value reached more than five million yuan, received the certificates of the provincial pollution-free origin and provincial agricultural products and was selected as a provincial and municipal exemplary family farm. Since its establishment, it has operated in accordance with the construction standards of county-level exemplary family farms, established a pre-production, in-production and post-production technical standard system, and helped hundreds of farmers improve the quality and efficiency of grape planting.

Additionally, Liulihong Anjing Tea Factory was rated Grade B and Yesheng Poultry Farm as Grade C in this agricultural products’ standardized production performance evaluation.

The agricultural products’ standardized production performance evaluation is made from the perspectives of the environment of origins, management of agricultural materials, standardized production and quality and safety of agricultural products. The evaluation results are divided into four grades: A, B, C and D. The agricultural entities rated as Grade A have the right to participate in the selection of “Quality Award of People’s Government of Zhejiang Province”, and those as Grade C and Grade B have the right to participate in the selection of the exemplary farmers’ cooperatives and exemplary family farms at provincial, municipal and county’s levels.

In recent years, Haiyan’s whole-process standardization production has reduced the quality risks of agricultural products, enlarged the supply of green and high-quality agricultural products, completed the construction of 84 standardized projects and made agricultural standardized production account for 64%. At present, the county has established a provincial green agricultural product base “Haiyan Grape”, identified 22 exemplary farms in this base, made the core planting area of the base reach 541 hectares, established nine provincial exemplary planting and breeding bases of rice and fishery (rice and shrimps), built such regional agricultural brands as “Yanyixiawang”, “Yanyihewang” and” “Haiyan Grapes” and effectively given play to the driving effect of agricultural entities, constantly improving the popularity and market share of high-quality agricultural products and laying a foundation for the improvement of agricultural products’ quality and safety.
