The lists of 4A Scenic Areas and 3A Scenic Areas of Zhejiang 2022 were made public several days ago. Shendang and Yucheng, two towns of Haiyan, were honored respectively as 4A and 3A scenic areas of Zhejiang.

Shendang is an ancient town with shining culture, clean rivers and lakes and excellent traditions as well as a modern town of innovation, vigor and quality. In recent years, the town has pushed ahead with its organic renewal and high-quality renaissance of its ancient city such as the upgrading or construction of Shendang Culture and Art Center, Benhu Block, the old silkworm cocoon factory and barn, and Ancestral Hall of the Qian Family.

In order to build a sweet town suitable for living and travelling, Yucheng has intensified efforts in the breeding of lobsters, planting of grapes and pears and the construction of “1953 Innovation Culture Park”, Zhuangchaihu Wetland Park, Jiangwei Village and Yuanyang Village. With various and abundant folk cultures, this town organizes regularly Fruit Culture Art Festival, Grape Contest, Pear Contest, Hejia Happiness Culture Festival, Zhuangchai Lake Dragon Boat Festival and Yucheng Culture Festival to enrich people’s life, inherit culture and enhance the town’s influence.

As an important task of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang to upgrade towns and villages to scenic areas, the evaluation of scenic areas is made based on their environment, people’s life, culture, industrial development, social governance and natural and cultural characteristics to build harmoniously natural and cultural centers suitable for living, travelling and starting businesses. The evaluation criteria range from environment and landscape, facilities and services, products and business forms to management and guarantee measures.

In recent years, the county has implemented the strategy of building a leading high-quality culture and tourism county well integrating culture and tourism industries and benefiting the people of the whole county, and now it has been honored as a Tourism Demonstration County of Zhejiang and a City of 4A Scenic Area of Zhejiang. So far, Ganpu, Shendang, Baibu, Xitangqiao, Tongyuan, Qinshan and Yucheng have been built into scenic towns, of which, Ganpu and Shendang are 4A scenic towns of Zhejiang.
