Various Culture and Tourism Activities Held in Haiyan for Spring Festival

  • During the Spring Festival of the Chinese Year of Tiger, “To spend the Spring Festival in Haiyan” became citizens’ new choice, for which many scenic spots and areas and cultural centers, organized colorful tourism activities for citizens. In the South-north Lake Scenic Area, many citizens preferred to climb the mountain with the families in hope of a better future. Some of them mounted the scenic spot Eagle’s Nestle, and made wishes in front of the Hangzhou Bay to make remarkable progress in the coming year. In Qiyuan Garden, many citizens were attracted to come to enjoy tea and Spring Festival Couplets, and admire charming scenes. During the spring Festival, 19,000 visitors came to the Qiyuan Garden for sightseeing.

    Haiyan Museum held online exhibitions of its collections of wooden board-printed Spring Festival pictures and other objects for citizens to appreciate those collected cultural relics at home. “Growing Various Corns to Embrace the Spring Festival” held in Zhang Leping Memorial attracted more than 20 groups of families, enhancing teenagers’ practice competence and their awareness of cherishing corns. A series of events happened in Zhang Yuanji Library such as “Chief Librarian Presents Books as the Gift of the Spring Festival” “Hanfen Book Fair” and “Revolutionary Story Telling” to enrich citizens’ festival life.

    Trips to rural areas were still thriving. In Jinxing Village, Lehu Art Festival was highly favored, where tourists could receive Spring Festival Cake free of charge, pray for a brighter future in the Year of Tiger and participate in Exhibition of Ancient Lamps and Lights. Haiyan Rural Tourism Company issued online consumption coupons worth more than 100,000 yuan and organized popular Spring Festival-themed activities and art performances in such scenic areas as Fengyi, Huangjiashan and Wenxiwu to create a favorable environment for citizens to enjoy themselves in the Spring Festival holiday.
