Located near the sea, Haiyan is a county with various natural landscapes, a long history, splendid cultures and abundant tourism resources, and its Area of South-north Lake is the only national AAAA scenic area with mountains, seas and lakes in China for its fresh air and 80% of forest coverage rate.

With the South-north Lake to the west of the ancient city of Ganpu as the center, this scenic area is composed of lakes, ponds, mountain forests, seashores and an ancient city, including more than 40 scenic spots such as Yunxiu Nunnery, Top Eagle Nest, Tanling Stone City, Source of the Tide of the Qiantang River, Refuge of Kim Koo, Xijian Cottage, Zaiqing Villa, Huangyuan Building for Book Collection, Temple of the King of Wu State and Yue State, etc. In 2021, the Scenic Area was selected as one of the first “Zhejiang’s Healthy Rural Areas with Pleasant Climate”.

Qiyuan Garden is a national cultural relic protection unit and Qiyuan Tourism Cultural Scenic Area is a national AAAA scenic area and a provincial ecological tourism area of Zhejiang.

The Chihaimiao Seawall of the Qiantang River is one of the eighth national key cultural relic protection units.

Besides, there are other scenic spots and historical sites such as Yongzuo Temple, Ancestral Hall of the Qian Family, Jinsu Temple, West Gate of the ancient city of Ganpu, etc.
