At the end of 2010, Haiyan Port is to be upgraded to a first-class open port after the approval of the State Council, and will establish such service institutions as immigration inspection, customs, port affairs, inspection and quarantine,and further speed up the customs clearance efficiency.in the port area, 55 berths of one thousand or ten thousand tons can be built.With only 133 nautical miles from Shanghai Port, 85 nautical miles from Ningbo Port, 80 nautical miles from Zhoushan Dinghai Port, Haiyan county has great advantages in undergoing transfer transport and marine transportation is very convenient.Currently there are 4 berths of ten thousand tons under construction. At the end of 2010, 7 sea terminals will be built. After that, the throughput of Haiyan Port will reach 5 million tons.By the end of 2020, 25 sea terminals and 16 500-ton inland river berths will have been built and the throughput is expected to reach 10 million tons.The advantages in port logistics further promotes the development of port industries and industrial cluster.
