At the turn of the summer and autumn, flocks of egrets gather there, constituting a unique sight in the South-North Lake and giving birth to the name of the isle. This isle has long been a favorite resort for watching the moon on the Mid-autumn Festival, where such famous scholars in history as Xu Xiangqin, Huang Zongxi and Zha Chenxing came for a tour. On the isle, there is a ribbon-like lake with a beautiful name of "Yueluchi" which means that the god of the moon pours a pool of water.With the isle in the lake and a lake in the isle, it is affectionately called by the tourists "Little Three Pools Mirroring the Moon."
